Miss Louisiana 2023 Contestant

We asked Elyce a few questions about the upcoming Miss Louisiana pageant that she will be competing in.

- (Pageant Realm): How did you start competing?

- (Elyce): I started competing because I was looking for something that could challenge me and get me out of my comfort zone. Growing up as a dancer, I’ve always felt comfortable performing on stage, so I thought that pageantry would be a good fit!

- (PR): What is your Pageant talent?

- (E): Dance is my passion, so I love being able to use it as my talent.

- (PR): Tell us about your Community Service Initiative?

- (E): My CSI is called "U.D.I.D." It stands for "Undeniable Diversity & Inclusion in Dance" and through it, I strive to provide safe spaces for self expression and empowerment for people in low income communities through dance.

- (PR): How are you feeling about the pageant now all the contestants have been announced and it's getting closer?

- (E): I am so excited, grateful and ready to get Miss Louisiana week started! This will be my first ever time competing at Miss Louisiana, so I’m just excited to see where this week takes me.

- (PR): How has your prep been building up to Miss Louisiana?

- (E): One thing that I told myself throughout this whole process is to not be too hard on myself and to have fun. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing! This journey has shown me how to embody having balance in all aspects of life, so this has been my most enjoyable pageant prep experience yet! I am so grateful to say that I feel so calm and at peace about where I am in my preparation journey. I’ve watched everything beautifully fall into place due to divine timing, so my heart is open and full!

- (PR): What are you most excited about?

- (E): I’m most excited about reuniting and making memories with the class of 2023!

- (PR): Are there any sponsors/partners you want to give a shoutout to?

- (E): I would love to shout out Old School Outdoors, Bobby Johnson Equipment Co. Inc., and Sloan’s Formals of Bossier City.
